Ichnographically describing all the Streets, Lanes, Alleys, Courts, Yards, Churches, Halls and Houses, &c Actually Surveyed and Described
By John Ogilby Esq. His Majesties Cosmographer 1677
John Ogilby was assisted by William Morgan and most of the engraving was done by Hollar.
This a is 19th cenury reduced copy of the map, published 1904 by A&C Black. The original is 8 feet 5 inches by 4 feet 7 inches and is in 20 sheets and is on a scale of 100 feet to the inch, and can be seen in the British Library. It is the first accurate and detailed map of London, with all the buildings represented in plan rather than as bird's eye views.
